Wildlife Rescue
Many animals rescued from the illegal pet trade have lost the ability to live on their own. The long-tailed macaque is frequently captured for this purpose. The mother is killed and the baby taken and sold to a pet store or to a private individual. Many animals are seriously injured during capture.
WIN provides a permanent home for these animals at the Rescue Center. We socialize them with other individuals and provide quality food, housing, enrichment, and medical care. With the macaques, we hope to eventually do a “controlled release” back into the forest where they will be provided shelter and food while living a life in the wild again.

The needs of the animals are carefully studied and provided at the WIN Rescue Center.
